Local move within Texas

Move from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Dallas Texas in June 2017.

Never again will I use them nor would I recommend them to you're quote one price then when they have your stuff on the truck you're quote another when my property was delivered I was quote anothe price. My property was damaged after they unloaded it a brand new tv screen cracked. They (the company)had me file a claim had to have a settlement claim notarize and everything sent it to them. The amount they offered me regarding my damage wouldn't have even covered a new tv. I am still waiting on that settlement check.

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to Georgia

Horrible company.

Terrible experience. This is a scam. Please don't believe the over-the-top 5 star reviews you find. I was given a great quote and gave them my deposit. The day of my move, the movers showed up 4 hours later than they were scheduled. They took 5 hours to load everything (it was already boxed for them.) After loading my belongings, they told me I owed almost 3 times more than I had been quoted. I refused to sign, so they drove off with my stuff anyway. It took 3 angry voice mails before I got a call back, and was totally disrespected by customer service. They didn't seem to care that I was mislead or treated so badly. The held my belongings hostage until I could pay them the new price, which of course had to be cash or wire transfer. They DO NOT have their own drivers. They guys who delivered my stuff said they are contracted out. Upon delivery I had multiple pieces of furniture broken or damaged, and a few pieces lost. I'm now trying to find out how to try to get some compensation for these damages, but they made sure not to put any of that on their website.

Long-distance move from Baltimore, MD to Dallas, TX

Good moving company.

As I intended to do… to write a good or bad review for this company, depending on their business towards me and my move.
Surprisingly for me, I will give them 5 stars. They deserved it. I honestly didn’t expect such a good handling of all the moving process.
From the very beginning they gave me a good price for the move. I received a generous discount from the management, a military discount. As the next step was the actual pick-up day. I was called by the driver early in the morning, and I was told when he and his team will arrive. They’v loaded everything in about 4 hrs, and I must say they did a good job packing all my furniture.
Also wanted to mention that both teams were nice and professional people.
As I was promised, I recieved my stuff in 2 weeks.
My experience with them was good, and I felt obligated to leave a good review.

Long-distance move from Leland, NC to Oklahoma City, OK

Worst moving company.

I hired the Public Moving Company located in 7706 Waterford Square Dr Unit 1221, Charlotte, NC 28226. The job was to move all my households item from Leland, NC to Oklahoma City. They came to my house on August 15, 2017 and after loading my stuff in a truck they charge me more because they said that I exceeded the quantity estimated. On October 11, 2017 representatives of Public Moving Company came in a truck with "all" my households stuff. They didn't want to start uploading until I give them the remaining of the payment in a money order. At first, they wanted the money orders on blank and I told them that I won't give a blank money order. After several minutes, back and forth and multiples calls to Public moving, they accepted the money orders filled. First the company only sent two people to handle and assemble our furniture. They didn't assemble all the furniture (I paid for a full package and unpackage service) and they were lost on how to assemble. Second many of the furniture came with scratches, bumps and even broke. When finished uploading everything they want that I sign the papers and I complained that they didn't bring all my stuff. They said that they just picked up the truck to deliver. I called Public Moving Company and they said that the others stuff will come in two, no more than three days. Three days passed and since Friday 10-21-2017 nobody call me back to explain to me when my stuff will come. I called today every day since then and the dispatcher told me that they don't have my items in the schedule and didn't know when my stuff will com. I asked for a supervisor and she told me that she didn't have one. I called customer services and told me that they don't have any supervisor that I can talk to. I still calling and now they avoided my calls and the last time they even mentioned that they don’t have my items. The cost of all my missed items are around $20,000.00. They stole my household items and because they cross interstate lines I complained with the FBI but still no response..

Long-distance move from Michigan to North Carolina

Horrible.

I was moving from Michigan to NC. The movers showed up and informed me it was like double then what I was quoted by the salesman. They were moving me from a storage unit to my new home.
I was told they would unload and set up my items upon arrival.
I was also told I would not have to pay a delivery fee if it had to be in storage for a few days.
Well, when they got toy place it was raining. First, they tried charging me a long haul fee saying they could not back into my driveway. Mind you, this a an access road where a mobile home had been taken you. Then, they said well if you can get your neighbor to agree to any damages to their yard or trees they could do it, I did. Then, they unpacked their truck and put everything in the rain before bringing it in, getting boxes and furniture muddy.
They did not use foot covers, thereby tracking mud throughout my house. Also tracks from their muddy cart. They refused to set my bed up, or to put my 2 tables together.
I put a claim in about all this back in May. I keep being told it has been processed and is in for payment for the past three months. Now, nobody answers their phones and nobody responds to emails either. I even threatened them with reporting to BBB if I do not hear from them within the month.
They don't even deserve a 1 star. There are plenty more pictures.

Long-distance move from Virginia to California

Do not use this fraudulent company.

Decided to go with this company. They gave quote of 500 ct. which initially cost $2095.01. They day before the move they called again to confirm. I took off a patio table and 4 chairs adding on a my sectional which changed the cf. 545, totaling $2398.00. After showing up to my home 2 hours late after the window they said they didn't come prepared for a full pack, we needed to all the company and reschedule. We call dispatcher and she said we needed to pack things ourselves and they would come out the following day. The new moving team arrived after we had broken down everything, packed things in boxes, and told us that stuff exceeded the cubic square based off a visual estimate. After leaving multiple items at my home such as the sectional, lamps, clothes, dishes, pots, pans, the list goes on we were still over capacity. Not to mention they charged us for the tape used to wrap beds, dressers, etc which in the contract was stated that (blankets/ protective pads: Free Use Of blankets & Padding, Belts, Ties, and Straps). The driver told us if we tipped the team good we would over look certain charges because he felt God told us he were good people. Now fast forward until today 4 August 2017, we were contacted today saying that the movers would be here today. I called dispatch the night prior morning, and of course they were rude telling me that the stuff was on it's way, if I didn't accept today it would be an extra $2000 fee for storage and re-delivery. I asked if their was an issues yesterday why didn't Ellie say anything and Ellie also stated that they were going to call me the following to schedule delivery date. I fear that this company will get here and try to charge more as I've seen in several reviews. We are already $1344 of what the company originally quoted us and I fear my things will be damaged as well. This is not a good practice for a business especially when they claim they are a veteran-owned company. Asking the status of our household goods and asked if we could put into storage. A lady name Ellie said it would be no problem. Not even two hours after making the phone call my husband gets a call from the driver yelling, cussing and demanding he pay them because he will be here tomorrow. My husband stated that I called the company and that the stuff was going into storage. I called the company again to confirm the storage, the same lady Ellie states that they were coming and would charge me an extra 2,000 for redelivery fee. Movers called gave me a window of 3-4 pm. Showed up around 5:30 pm. Demanded more money for a long carry because they would not park in front of my apartment. (Funny the military mover that moved us here had no issues parking in front of our complex). Didn’t start the unloading until cash was paid, didn’t assemble anything, didn’t go through inventory with us. Everything that this company pack was ruined. Dining room chairs, entry way table completely broken, missing a 55 inch Vizo TV, and 3 boxes of close. I have been trying to contact claim but of course no answer. They heavily rely on caller ID. I am definitely reporting this company to other government agencies.

Long-distance move from Denver, CO to Forest Park, IL

Damaged and lost items.

My grandfather arranged for this company to move his belongings from Colorado to Illinois. Everything was picked up alright. When it was delivered, we were missing 4 boxes. His fireplace heater had a hole in the door. The lamp that my grandmother had for years was shattered. He was diagnosed with small cell a few months ago. He passed away a week and a half ago while this company was destroying and losing his things. There are 4 important boxes of his things we may never see again. They lost some of the belongings he earned in the Vietnam War. We have tried calling multiple times and have not even reached a human being. We have left multiple messages without anyone returning our phone calls. They charged him around 7000 dollars to move his things and this is the service we received. I implore anyone reading this not to use this company.

Local move within California

Delays, losses and extra charges.

My stuff got picked up from CA to be moved to NC on May 21st. After an original estimate of $3385.00 for the move (without visual inspection) with full pack service. On the day of move, the estimate was revised to $4400 (30% more than quoted). How is someone suppose to believe their quotes!!
Getting a date for dispatch is like pulling teeth. You call their customer service numbers and no one picks up or you wait for atleast 30 minutes. I was told a date and told I will hear back from driver which I didn't for the next 2 days. On reaching the dispatch department, I was told that they did not load my stuff on the truck as it got filled up. So, who is suppose to inform me of any changes?
On delivery, a dining chair arrived broken. A wardrobe box was missing. A claim has been filed 2 weeks back and have not heard back.
Overall, felt scammed at pickup with the increase on estimate and very annoyed with the customer service and dispatch departments on being rude and un-reachable.

Long-distance move from Tampa, FL to Peachtree City, GA

Do NOT believe anything this company tells you.

BEWARE-- read all reviews. The company has lots of poor reviews on google from people that actually live in the USA and moved with this horrible company.
Research them on DOT website - fmcsa.dot.gov; the company cannot post fake reviews there.
I moved from Tampa to ATL. I was given an estimate of $5600; I asked the sales person, Tommy Lee, 3 times if he was sure the inventory was correct and even emailed him another company's estimate. He stated the other company was putting a high weight and would not refund the difference and that Public Moving Services, did not do things like that. Once all of our belongings were loaded on the truck, the person in charge of the loading shows up with new paperwork and tells us our cubic ft was way higher than estimated and we owe an additional $7000. A total of $12600. Once our belongings left our house, we had to wire 1/2 of the money. We were told we had to do so to insure our delivery was on time. This conversation was with Angela. After 3 weeks, we were given a delivery date on a Thursday afternoon, for the next day, Friday. They did not show up, no one would answer the phones. Finally 6 days later we were able to get someone on the phone and get our stuff delivered 2 days later. We had to pay the balance in cash before they would unload the trunk. Also, we were missing items and had broken items.

Long-distance move from Miami Beach, FL to San Jose, CA

Very Thankful!

I am writing this review to reflect my experience with this organization. I am sure that anyone who has to move from one state to another understands that it is a science on its own. The calls never ends, everyone has there own version of things and you really do not know what to believe. I chose these guys honestly because the price was right and my rep made sense. Over all the entire transition was fairly smooth. The guys did an amazing job packing our belongings and the delivery was pretty smooth as well. Hopefully, I will never have to move again because I am still receiving phone calls from movers. Lol. Good job guys and will recommend!
